Jehovah's Creations in Chiapas: Agua Azul and Misol-Ha waterfalls, Palenque Pyramids

The Mayans worshipped the Wind, they symbolized it as a "T" and included in their Arquitectural designs. (The picture came upside down, oooophs sorry about that)

Agua Azul waterfall, the most famous and beautiful waterfall in Mexico, 760 kms (about 500 miles) of river that makes these amazing many waterfalls, you can walk forever and continue to see beauty. We only had 1.15 min. to watch them, worth it to visit them.


Tomb of King Pakal, this is only 1 of about 1,400 pyramids in this site, only 5% has been discovered, the rest lays hidden in the jungle, it's sooooo awesome!!! You can also hear the hauling monkeys, Art saw them too, they are black and big and make noise like a huge dog.

Amazing Agua Azul waterfall, we were told the best time to visit them is march and april before the rainy season they look clearer and more blue, but we happened to enjoyed them a lot.

Bible studies, gatherings, new friends

With Karla, a new Bible Student, at the Lebanese restaurant. She expressed her appreciation yesterday saying: "Thank you for everything you did for me", she has a lot of questions. She came to a meeting even before showing her the Bible Teach book, and although she has a very busy schedule (works from 8 am to 3 pm and goes to school from 4 pm to 11 pm) she is making time for her Bible study.


Yesenia, a faithful pioneer sister who works as a teacher 2 hours away from San Cris in Ocosingo. On wednesdays she comes for the meeting and thursday morning goes back to work, comes back to San Cris on friday night to support the FS groups on the weekends. Her dad started to study and suddenly after being an elder he disassociated himself but the whole family continues faithfully attending meetings despite the fact that they have to travel around 1 hour to come to a meeting (1 mile walking, the rest on a "Colectivo") she doesn't have a car and doesn't drive, she pioneers pretty much in the 2 cities and has 6 Bible students (in the picture with Betty and her niece) some studies are in Ocosingo, others in San Cris. Very encouraging it was to meet her and worked in service with her.

And the adventures continue......(Sat.January 23rd,10)

Last Saturday we went out in service at the outskirts of town, with a beautiful sunshine on our faces, absorbing all the vitamin D we don't get in Oregon now. Summer and Lacey had offered their Ford Explorer to take 7 more, making a total of 9 brothers and sisters in a 5 passenger SUV. Richard and Art as gentlemen voluntarily offered to sit in the back, you can see the picture below hehehehe.

As we finished the territory we all decided to get back to downtown. Summer and Lacey mentioned they could bring the car to us so we could catch our breath and not have to walk. There we are........waiting and waiting, Summer came back walking to let us know they needed help. Yesterday at a gathering we found out that the following story originated from eating a delicious Dark Mint filled Chocolate while driving that few minutes before Jeannie had generously shared with them:

We all came to the rescue......turns out miraculously the car ended in a culvert or ditch because our sweet sisters were enjoying their chocolate. Some nice neighbors offered their help but they replied to them: "Thank you but we have some big friends with us", when Richard and Art bravely came to the manly rescue the neighbors with wide eager eyes said: "Si que estan grandotes!!!" which means "You were right, they truly are biiiiiiig!", our strong rescuers easily helped the sisters to get out of their predicament. They were sure glad some brothers were with us that morning. The whole thing was really funny and gave us something to laugh about for the rest of the day and up to now. Summer and Lacey, we love you dearly!.

Our following pictures soon will tell the story, last Monday we had the opportunity to go to 2 amazing waterfalls and to the largest wide spread Ruins in Mexico called "Palenque", as a brief introduction to them: there are over 1,400 pyramids, they covered 10 miles in circumference and only 5 percent can be seen, the rest is still lost in the jungle and being excavated. The Mexican government has so many archaeological sites that there are not enough resources to uncovered them to the point that even some big companies like Nestle are sponsoring the excavation. Sadly, our days in "San Cris" are getting shorter so tomorrow we will try to post this next adventure.
